Patience

In time, she must learn
as sunrise awaits her night
robed in sheer desire
dawn's kiss on the horizon
taught him patience too.

Moonlight and Fireflies

Night meadow
awash in light,
streamers strung
upon gilded wings
slipping from
fallen star to
that wish I might

may come true
for once tonight.
Irridescent dance
of fireflies
shimmer gold in
tearsheen tulle.
Wink, nod

and then I blink.
Wishes turn to
faiery dust,
shower sparks as
moonlight seeps
between handclasp
seams, folded
tight round
bedtime prayers

laced with
whispered hope.
Jar full of wishes,
prayers,
and falling stars;
captive magic on
this moonless night.

On chance the lid
lay askew,
just as you've
left this halo mine,
some lucky firefly
might just
catch a break.

My heart belongs to my love of words and languages always. Amidst the whirlwind of living life largely with my family, I always have time to daydream and write within my mind. It is when reality interrupts that the writings disappear like vanishing smoke on a cross breeze; leaving traces of an etching here, a watercolour there... a masterpiece just out of reach.  It is here that sometimes I try to capture the essence of what is left.  Feel free to get lost within...

Tall Tales

Autumn fire,
such a glorious image ~
majestic trees burst to flame

dappled apple greens
crown'd by rims of golden fire;
crimson, glowing sienna

autumn paints portraits of
austere columns of sycamore,
sweeping trains, swooping arms
trailing crepe covered gnarl’d fingers

autumn tells a better tale than fall
- fall makes for amusing tales
  of new love and clumsiness.
